Tuner version of 'The Bodyguard' set to bow
Louise Headley will have the Whitney Houston role inside a stage tuner version from the 1992 Kevin Costner movie "The Bodyguard," opening at London's Adelphi theater within the fall. Houston's recent dying might seem like the spur towards the production however the tuner has developed in the works best for a while. Created by David Ian ("Grease," "The Seem of Music") and Michael Harrison, it had been initially skedded to spread out this spring in the Aldwych Theater with Alexandra Burke, champion of TV's "The X Factor" within the Houston role. Thea Sharrock ("Equus") will direct the show, that will possess a book by Alex Dinelaris ("Zanna, Don't") and extra tunes from Houston's back catalog. The show marks the U.K. stage debut for Grammy champion Headley, who also won the very best Actress Tony on her perf in Disney's "Aida." Further casting has not yet been introduced.
